Our Mission and Vision
Autism United of Wisconsin is the new, exciting evolution of the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin. As our organization looks back on 50 positive years of dedicated services and support, we look ahead to expanding our network of care across our entire state to enhance all on the Autism spectrum — children, teens and adults — as well as their families, educators, caregivers and others.
Our dedicated work includes advocacy, community programming, and creating a more inclusive world by increasing public awareness about the day-to-day issues facing Autism Spectrum individuals; advocating for appropriate services for individuals across the life span; and providing the latest information regarding treatment, education, research and advocacy.
To our members, friends and associates, we thank you for your encouragement, enthusiasm and continued support moving forward and upward. If we’re new to you, we welcome you to explore, learn more, share with others and most of all, join our neurodiverse community, united by our mission and our passion: a better life and brighter future for everyone impacted by Autism.
Nationwide Recognition
We’re a recognized United States not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization, meaning all support is tax-deductible as prescribed by law (consult your tax attorney).

Our Long-Term Goals
As a statewide organization, we’re passionately focused on the expansion and growth beyond any chronological date — but also to expand our reach to every family in Wisconsin that needs our support.
Expansion
Significantly expand our scope of services, as well as our geographic reach, particularly for teens and adults on the Autism Spectrum. Make each day better for each Autistic person.
Outreach
Expand our reach of services to families with persons on the Autism Spectrum across Wisconsin’s 72 counties and potentially beyond. Or: no Autistic left behind.
Budgeting
As 2025 marks 50 years of organizational service to Autism Spectrum persons and families, our goal is to celebrate this accomplishment by increasing our operating budget $50,000 this year — or “50,000 Cheers for 50 Years.”
