This support group meets on the third Thursday of every month from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. in person at our office and over Zoom. This group is an opportunity for parents to connect\, share triumphs\, frustrations and talk to others who understand the highs and lows of raising a child or supporting an adult on the Spectrum.  This is a space for reflection and understanding where parents with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)\, can connect with other parents to develop skills and learn about resources that can help the family. DESCRIPTION:Autism United of Wisconsin is partnering with St. Francis Children’s Center to support four open play sessions in 2025. This Open Play is for children with special/support needs of all ages and their families. This event offers opportunities for children to play in a safe space surrounded by like-minded parents that understand the experiences of one another. \nWhen weather allows\, St. Francis opens their large fenced in playground that is secure for children that elope. Each session\, there will be two crafts for participants to take home along with the open play activities. Guardians\, please reserve tickets for children only. SUMMARY:Sensory Playtime at the WJ Niederkorn Library
DESCRIPTION:Join Autism United of Wisconsin as we partner with the WJ Niederkorn Library to offer FREE fun\, interactive sensory playtimes! The sensory playtime program is set up as a variety of tactile\, sensory activity stations where children (under 13 years old) are free to explore with their caregiver. Each month there is a different theme. Stations may include shaving cream\, sand\, water\, and/or food items. Dress to make a mess. \nResearch shows sensory play supports children in their brain development\, language development\, gross and fine motor skills\, as well as improving their ability to socially interact. Stop by for a little while of stay the whole time. Registration recommended\, but not required.
