DESCRIPTION:WisconSibs Sibshops are workshops for children and teens who are brothers and sisters of children with disabilities or long-term illnesses. \nYouth Sibshops (ages 8-12) are a spirited mix of new games (designed to be unique\, off-beat and appealing to a wide ability range)\, new friends and discussion activities. \nTeen Sibshops (ages 13-17) focus on self-esteem building\, peer connections and topics related to being a sibling of someone with a brain-based disability through activities and discussions. \nSibshops are guided by trained facilitators (school psychologists\, teachers\, counselors or adult siblings\, for example) in small\, age-appropriate groups. Milwaukee\, WI 53217 \n  \n\nGet ready to dance the night away at the St. Francis Winter Formal for teens with special needs aged 14-19 years old!\n\n\n\nYou’re invited to the Winter Formal on Friday\, December 12th from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM\, as we step into a magical Winter Wonderland! \nGet ready for music\, milestone photos\, laughter\, and unforgettable memories! \nDressing up is completely optional—come as you are and ready to dance\, connect\, and enjoy the evening! The night begins with Red Carpet Drop-Offs from 5:30 to 6:00 PM\, followed by a warm welcome from our Executive Director. Gluten-free appetizers will be served at 6:00 PM\, and dancing will be happening all night long. \nThis special evening is designed for teens ages 14–19 who have a support need or special need\, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you. To make the night more meaningful and fun\, each teen is kindly asked to bring a plus one—whether that’s a close friend\, sibling\, or family member. There’s no age limit for plus ones; we just ask that they be someone special who makes you feel supported and comfortable. \nTo attend the Winter Formal\, families must reserve one free ticket in advance per teen-plus ones are included for the teen since we are kindly requiring a plus one. Tickets are required to attend\, and no walk-ins will be accepted in order to keep the event safe and organized. We kindly ask guardians to secure tickets by the end of November\, unless they sell out earlier. When booking\, you’ll need to provide the plus one’s full name\, age\, phone number\, email\, and relationship to the teen. \nWhile we’re excited to welcome everyone to this magical evening\, we unfortunately cannot provide transportation to or from the event\, so families will need to plan ahead. DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the third annual “One Thing I Wish You Knew” Community Mental Health Event\, which is co-hosted by the Friendship Circle of Wisconsin and REDgen.\nJoin us for an evening of heartfelt conversations and authentic connections. Four local teens will share their vulnerabilities and experiences with mental health and the challenges they face. \nThe 2024 event saw over 500 attendees\, including 200 teens and nearly 300 adults\, comprised of educators\, mental and behavioral health professionals\, nonprofit leaders\, parents\, and caregivers. \nThis in-person Ted Talk-style  even will be held on Sunday\, November 23rd from 3-4:45PM at the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee\, WI. The Italian Community Center has plenty of space in their surface lot just steps from the door. \nYou can look forward to a resource/vendor fair\, dessert buffet\, and of course the program itself.
