Our friends at Hayat Pharmacy will be joining us for a not-so-scary Halloween Party and Sensory Friendly Vaccine Clinic! Come dressed up in your favorite costume and enjoy some spooky snacks and creepy crafts while getting caught up on routine vaccines. Flu\, COVID\, RSV\, and pneumonia vaccines will be available for individuals aged five and up. \nWhat makes this vaccine clinic sensory friendly?  \n\nHayat pharmacy and their staff are a sensory friendly trained clinic. \n\n\nNurses adapt to the needs of the patient\, instead of the patient having to adapt to the norms of a typical clinic. \n\n\nCommunication boards will be available for use.  \n\n\nVEI (Vaccine Education Initiative) kits are available for use! DESCRIPTION:Join Autism United of Wisconsin as we partner with the WJ Niederkorn Library to offer FREE fun\, interactive sensory playtimes! The sensory playtime program is set up as a variety of tactile\, sensory activity stations where children (under 13 years old) are free to explore with their caregiver. Each month there is a different theme. Stations may include shaving cream\, sand\, water\, and/or food items. Dress to make a mess. \nResearch shows sensory play supports children in their brain development\, language development\, gross and fine motor skills\, as well as improving their ability to socially interact. Stop by for a little while of stay the whole time. Registration recommended\, but not required. SUMMARY:Autism Insight and Strategies for Educators
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a workshop for educators full of insights and strategies presented in a partnership between Autism United of Wisconsin and DSHA. This workshop has practical application to any who work with students with special education needs including general and special education teachers\, paraprofessionals\, administrators\, related service providers\, and other staff who support students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The presentation includes a high-level introduction and overview of Autism. Case studies\, stories\, and solutions for students with Autism and other special education needs will be shared from a professional offering real world application from over 30 years of experience. This particular presentation will have an emphasis on females on the Autism Spectrum. \n\n\nThe presenter\, Mary Graczyk-McMullen\, is an Autism consultant for school districts and families. Mary’s personable presentation style includes using many examples from her extensive classroom and consultation experiences. She has a full toolbox of helpful strategies for educators who want all students to enjoy success in their classrooms. Her practical experiences\, insights\, and session take-aways help make great school districts even better!
