DESCRIPTION:Sibshops:\n\n\nFor participants aged 8-12\n\n\nSibshops are peer support and educational programs where school age brothers and sisters meet other young siblings to have fun\, laugh\, talk about the good and not so good parts of having a sibling with special needs. Play some great games and learn something about the services their brother or sister receive.\n\n\nSibshops Teen\n\n\nFor participants aged 13-17\n\n\nTeen Sibshops focuses on self-esteem building\, peer connections\, and topics related to being a sibling of someone with special needs through activities and discussions.\n\n\nSESSION INFORMATION\n \n\nSessions will be held at: \n\n\nAutism United of Wisconsin\n\n\n3720 N 124th St O\, Wauwatosa WI 53222\n\n\nCost per session: $30\n\n\nSessions take place on Saturdays – 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.\n\n\nRegister for Sessions HERE\n\nAll sessions must be paid for in advance. The sensory playtime program is set up as a variety of tactile\, sensory activity stations where children (under 13 years old) are free to explore with their caregiver. Each month there is a different theme. Stations may include shaving cream\, sand\, water\, and/or food items. Dress to make a mess. \nResearch shows sensory play supports children in their brain development\, language development\, gross and fine motor skills\, as well as improving their ability to socially interact. Stop by for a little while of stay the whole time. Registration recommended\, but not required. DESCRIPTION:One-Week and Two-Week Sessions\nAugust 11–22\, 2025\nMonday – Friday\, 9 AM–12 PM  \nAbout: Designed for students on the Autism Spectrum\, Next Steps classes help students take their next steps as an artist and a person. First Stage creates a safe space for all students to express themselves and develop as individuals without judgment or fear of failure. Guided by our philosophy of teaching life skills through stage skills\, students will experience the joy of theater arts each day with a team of teaching artists and special education professionals. Classes designed for students on the Autism Spectrum entering grades 3-12 in Fall 2025 . \nClass Sizes: Our classroom model includes teams of lead teachers\, special education professionals\, and teaching assistants with approximately a 2:1 student to teacher ratio. DESCRIPTION:Autism United of Wisconsin is partnering with St. Francis Children’s Center to support four open play sessions in 2025. This Open Play is for children with special/support needs of all ages and their families. This event offers opportunities for children to play in a safe space surrounded by like-minded parents that understand the experiences of one another. \nWhen weather allows\, St. Francis opens their large fenced in playground that is secure for children that elope. Each session\, there will be two crafts for participants to take home along with the open play activities. Guardians\, please reserve tickets for children only. DESCRIPTION:Autism United of Wisconsin is partnering with St. Francis Children’s Center to support four Open Play sessions in 2025. This Open Play is for children with special/support needs of all ages and their families. This event offers opportunities for children to play in a safe space surrounded by like-minded parents who understand the experiences of one another. \nWhen weather allows\, St. Francis opens their large\, fenced- in playground that is secure for children who elope. Each session there will be two crafts for participants to take home\, along with the open play activities. Guardians\, please reserve tickets for children only.
